About the event

Throughout its work, the MNJRC aims to give the community the tools it needs to understand the issues facing the criminal legal system and participate in the work to transform it towards true justice. This November, voters will elect a new Hennepin County Attorney.

The Future of Prosecution virtual town hall will feature an introduction and overview of current challenges facing the office led by Professor Rachel Moran of St. Thomas Law, followed by introductions from Kevin Reese of Until We All Are Free (UWWAF) and Artika Roller from the MInnesota Coaltion Against Sexual Assualt (MNCASA). The second half of the town hall will be separate discussions with each of the two candidates for Hennepin County Attorney with representatives on both sides of the criminal legal system: survivors and victims of crime, alongside formerly incarcerated people. MNJRC Chair Andrew Martens will moderate the event.
